The Centre for Addiction Medicine (CAM) at NIMHANS offers specialized treatment and rehabilitation services for individuals affected by substance use disorders. Our interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, and occupational therapists provide evidence-based interventions tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
How to Access Our Services
New patients can visit our Outpatient Department during working hours Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 AM. Please visit Screening block and make a OPD card before visiting us. No prior appointment is needed for first-time consultations. Follow-up patients can schedule appointments through our reception desk or via telephone. Our multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive evaluations and personalized treatment plans for all forms of substance use disorders.

No, walk-ins are welcome for new registration. However, registering early (by 9:00 AM) helps reduce waiting time. You can simply arrive at the OPD counter during working hours.
Consultation in the general OPD is provided at no charge.
Yes, we welcome one family member to accompany you, especially during your first visit, as they can offer support and help provide helpful background or insights during the consultation. However, you’re also welcome to come alone if you prefer — we’re here to support you either way.
